Nikki’s Greece Travel Diary: Filled with Sights, Seafood and Stripes

Nikki’s love for travel stems from living abroad, visiting places for work, exploring with family and friends, and searching for inspiration. She recently went to Greece for the second time, and came back with memorable stories, experiences of great sights and food, and — lucky for us — travel tips and recommendations! Read on to see everything from her trip, including how she packed, the amazing places she went, and of course, the best spots to eat.

Nikki exploring in Mykonos wearing KULE Silk Ponza shirt and Silk Elba Pareo (new for July!).

Nikki went to Greece with some of her family and friends. She spent a week in Mykonos followed by a week traveling to different islands. Between touring on foot, swimming, and dining, Nikki packed only what she knew she would wear. That included swimsuits, caftans or loose fitting dresses, pareos for the beach, flat sandals, and some workout wear.

Nikki says that slippery leather or plastic sole sandals aren’t easy to wear on the cobblestones in Greece, and recommends packing sandals that won’t slip and slide, like these from The Row, which she wore the most on her trip.
“I like challenging myself to wear every single thing I pack and I think I only didn’t wear two things. I wore a lot of Greece-appropriate white and blue, plus some of our colorful KULE items like the crochet Harmonie.” – Nikki

As for the food, Nikki says it’s the best. The seafood was a highlight, as everything is so fresh. One of her favorite restaurants was Spilia in Mykonos located on a rock, carved out in the water. You can go by boat to have the freshest seafood.

“I’m not a dress person, but I really felt they were so much easier and fit the island/beach vibe. I love this one by Bode. I also packed a floral one by Michael Kors, a green one by Lemaire, and a crochet one by Auralee” – Nikki

Nikki describes Mykonos as one big party and says that all the restaurants have music playing as you eat. There are plenty of nightclubs — her favorite being Scorpios — that are so fun and unlike anywhere else.

“I was at Mykonos for a week. It is a big party. All the restaurants have music playing as you eat. It’s so fun and unlike anywhere else.” – Nikki
“I wore a lot of pareos (I love KULE’s new striped silk one, Lisa Corti, and Totême) tunics, caftans, and dresses. It’s easy to wear them over swimsuits, my favorite of which are by Eres. The striped caftan I’m wearing here is by MIKOH. Sarah Clary turned me onto the brand. I cannot resist a stripe.” – Nikki
“Look at the size of the prawns! The size and freshness of the seafood was amazing.” – Nikki
“This is at Nammos in Mykonos for dinner. It’s a very cool vibe with a tranquil setting in the sand. We went with a big group, but it is also very romantic.” – Nikki

On the other islands, it was more about the scenery and serenity. The picturesque sights are incredible, with vibrant colors and crystal-clear waters.

“I loved Paros. It’s a port city that’s very young, vibrant, and fun.” – Nikki
“This is a cove in Polyaigos. I loved being in the water. We did paddle boarding and water skiing a lot. The waters are so beautiful and clear.” – Nikki

As for shopping Nikki says, “I got a pareo and a striped cover-up — go figure!” Other than that, she didn’t really shop. She says it’s mostly about the water and beaches, food, and exploring.

A specific spot Nikki loved and recommends going to — from the idyllic setting, to the architecture, design, and the views — is The Rooster in Antiparos. It was a perfect finale for her trip.

34 Vogue Editors Share the Best White T-shirts by Julie Tong

How do you find the best white T-shirt? It might seem like a simple question, but tracking one down that checks all the boxes—from fit to comfort—is quite a feat. After all, the more minimal a clothing item is, the more its flaws become glaringly clear. No one likes the feeling of slipping on a boxy, ill-fitted white tee that is as stiff as cardboard against their skin. Finally, however, the search is over.

Throughout the history of pop culture, from Marlon Brando to Kendall Jenner, the white T-shirt has been ingrained in both our lives and our wardrobes. “Everybody needs it. Every culture and subculture has used the white T-shirt. That’s where the genius is,” says Karla Welch, a stylist who committed herself to developing the perfect white tee. For us at Vogue, the shirt has become a unifying closet staple. As we return to the office, travel, and make social plans, there’s something comforting about wearing a crisp, classic white T-shirt in the morning—fresh and dewy-faced. Perhaps we’ll add a touch of jewelry, whether that’s a pair of gold hoops or a minimalist chain necklace. But the best white tees can be paired with just about everything, from comfortable at-home yoga pants to dressy skirts for the office and beyond. And what’s more iconic and representative of our daily lives than a white T-shirt and a classic pair of blue jeans? Two editors weighed in on this divisive topic, and the verdict is in: Yes, jeans can be comfortable at home too.

Below, 34 Vogue editors share the best white T-shirts for women and men to wear now and forever.

For its Inez shirt, Kule extended the arms to hit just above the elbows and added a wonderfully, not-too-deep V at the neck. The cotton ribbed fabrication also gives the shirt just the right amount of cling. It’s all pretty perfect.

All the Cute Tennis Outfits and Accessories to Wear This Summer by Rebecca Brown

You don’t have to scroll too far down your feed or For You page to notice everyone’s wearing cute tennis outfits right now. TikTok, especially, feels like it’s become home for all things pleated and collared (we see you in those Alo skirts)—but preppy style is nothing new. Heritage brands like Tory Burch and Lacoste have been serving country club energy long before exercise dresses and skorts were considered a vibe. Needless to say, tennis is back (and so is pickleball).

So whether you’re as passionate about Wimbledon as Kate Middleton or joining Team Tenniscore for the first time, we rounded up the cutest tennis dresses, skirts, and accessories to help you ace your look—on and off the court.

Tennis accessories

Don’t stop at skorts and windbreakers. Brands like Tory Burch, Alo, and Kule have tons of stylish, functional accessories. A visor or sporty shades will keep the sun out of your eyes on and off the court, while a terry-cloth headband will keep your hair in check (and catch any beading sweat during the match). Complete your ’fit with a roomy tennis tote; it’s the perfect place to stash your racquet, balls, and valuables. And lastly, don’t forget the tennis balls—no one will mistake theirs for yours with this customized set.

7 Cute Pool Outfits To Copy All Summer by Kristina Kutkowski

Is there anything more refreshing than a dip in the water on a hot summer’s day? Whether you plan on hanging poolside at a villa in Tuscany (hey, a girl can dream) or during a backyard barbecue at home, your agenda deserves an epic wardrobe to match. So let’s talk about bathing suits and beyond that make styling cute pool outfits a breeze.

Naturally, swimwear is the best place to start. “For the pool, it’s really about the swimsuit,” Sarah Staudinger, co-founder and creative director of Staud, tells TZR. “A good one can act as a bodysuit base layer for so many outfits, and that takes you from a morning swim to a late-night dip.” This foundation will truly act as a beginning point, seamlessly allowing you to build the rest of your outfit around it.

A few points to keep in mind? “The best pool swimsuit is a suit that offers minimal tan lines. The thinner the straps, the better — most of our collection includes suits with thin to extremely thin straps,” Brittany Kozerski Freeney, owner and designer of JADE Swim, explains. “I also try to design with some adjustability and versatility in mind, so all of our swimsuits can be transitional.”

Still, you want to approach pool dressing holistically — even the most fantastic of bikinis do not count as an outfit alone. “Being on vacation is all about relaxing and reconnecting with family, friends and most importantly, yourself, so your wardrobe should reflect it,” Morgane Sezalory, founder of Sézane, tells us. “I always feel best in simple, yet beautiful pieces such as light and loose cotton dresses. Comfort may be key, but I still love to have fun with my poolside looks, playing with color and prints.”

Whether you are a die-hard minimalist, or fancy something over-the-top, always consider the elements. “Sun and sweat! The two most critical pool outfit factors,” Harling Ross Anton, writer and consultant, tells TZR. “I typically opt for pieces that offer coverage when needed but are still lightweight enough to keep cool.” Karen Walker, designer of namesake brand Karen Walker, also calls out “lightweight, organic cotton, long-sleeved shirts,” as her layering must-have.

Shielding from the elements is as essential as any accessory, when a blistering day in the sun is concerned. “Firstly, I look for sun protection: a paper parasol, a sunhat with a generous brim, a gauzy wrap, good sunblock (my preference is Osmosis) and, of course, great shades,” Walker tells TZR. “For poolside, I always like to go for big and super dark lenses for maximum protection from glare and water reflection.” Ross Anton adds, “A brimmed hat, ideally one that is easy to throw in a tote without taking up too much space,” is also in her pool necessities, proving it’s cool to take care of your skin.

Finally, you’ll want to find the bag to carry it all. “I think that a good bag to toss things in is essential,” Staudinger explains. “My Staud striped raffia Jetson bag carries all the essentials and doesn’t feel like a typical beach bag, plus it goes with every color.” Sezalory adds, “The ultimate accessory that I can never travel without is a spacious, handwoven basket. It fits all my essentials and suits the beach just as well as an apréo under the stars.”

Ahead, keep reading for seven cute pool looks to try, incorporating some of summer’s best trends, for optimum sunbathing chicness.

Totally Terry

We are seeing terry cloth fabrication everywhere and TZR’s obsession is running high this summer. “The Terry Collection features towel material, paired with the most buttery soft lining on the inside,” Kozerski Freeney speaks of the brand’s new swim category. “It is the perfect quick-drying outer material and cooling lightweight inside lining.” Go full on with the trend, adding retro-inspired cover-up pieces, like rompers and short sets, into the rotation for a day at the pool. Now all you need is an oversized woven bags (to fit everything from sunscreen to your summertime read) and chunky sole sandals (to make sure you don’t slip on any stray puddle).

The 13 Pieces You Need To Pull off the Coastal Grandma Aesthetic by Aemilia Madden

You don’t have to be headed to Nantucket this summer to embrace the effortlessly chic TikTok trend.

If you’ve ever heard someone refer to where they’re “summering,” it’s likely that they’re headed to the beach in Cape Cod, the Hamptons, or perhaps even the South of France. The verb tends to have an upper crust connotation. But for those of us who may not be able to spend the entire summer at the beach, we can still play the part aesthetically. Thanks to TikTok, the Coastal Grandmother aesthetic has taken off over the last few weeks (though the look has actually been around for much longer, thanks in major part to Nancy Meyers and Diane Keaton).

“Coastal Grandma means easy, put together, and effortlessly chic,” says Nikki Kule, the founder of clothing label Kule. “It’s using classic summer staples that are versatile and practical: sets, airy cottons and linens.” Generally, the Coastal Grandma aesthetic skews tailored and minimal—colors mostly stick to whites, beiges and blues (though pops of red and yellow aren’t uncommon). Fabrics are lightweight, and the overall attitude is easygoing—the look is meant the suit a laid-back lifestyle, after all.

“It’s the woman who keeps comfortable but looks put together in the summer,” adds Kule. “It’s easy, but thoughtful and well-dressed. It’s a uniform of 3 colors that is so easy you don’t even have to think about it.” Ahead, shop 13 key pieces to help you pull off the aesthetic this summer. Pour yourself a glass of wine, grab a beach read and you’ll be ready to fully embrace the coastal lifestyle, too.
