The 20 Best Camel Coats for Women Are Forever Classics by Halie LeSavage

Shop them now, wear them for years

On a Tuesday in January 2020, Meghan Markle wore an outfit including my definition of the best camel coat. A single-breasted design by Reiss, it hit at mid-calf and neatly coordinated with the chocolate-brown silk sweater and skirt she wore underneath it. It was elegant without trying too hard; it was warm enough for an outdoor engagement in winter, without the heft of a duffle or puffer coat. It was, to my mind, daytime perfection.

Markle’s exact coat is long off the market three years later, but her outfit is still my blueprint for recommending camel coats that will last. Just like her style, and the countless others appearing in celebrities’ winter outfits this year, the best camel coats come with a hint of polish and near-universal appeal. (Plus, undeniable warmth for the winter season.) Diego Abba, CEO of luxury retailer Italist, considers them one of the most versatile outerwear options to consider. “[Camel] matches any other neutral—black, white, gray—as well as staple winter colors like red, green, purple, and navy blue,” he said. With that much range, a camel coat can top a winter outfit with an ease that a printed puffer or color-blocked wool coat can’t. “In essence, it goes with everything and flatters most everyone.”

Some of the most investment-worthy camel coats by Max Mara, Anine Bing, and Stella McCartney adhere to a single- or double-breasted longline silhouette: a streamlined look that was as enviable on Meghan Markle in 2020 as it is on Katie Holmes in 2024. Then there are the modern twists, with exaggerated proportions, unexpected textures, or even hints of print. Abba recommends camel coats reinvented with everything from alpaca-mohair blends with floral motifs to knitted cardigan coats.

No matter the exact shape or texture, the best camel coats will last from season to season. Find our favorites for every winter ahead, including classic designer coats, camel puffers, and oversize leather jackets. Each coat was chosen based on expert recommendations, shopper reviews, and my own extensive testing.

26 Matching Sweatsuits to Wear At Home or On the Go by Concetta Ciarlo

Matching sweatsuits—in fact, the entire athleisure category—have come along from their early associations with being “a sign of defeat…” (For those curious about where the phrase originated from, it was Karl Lagerfeld who first said it.) Today’s coordinated sets—in fleece, terrycloth, even cashmere—are proof that casual comfort and polished style don’t have to be mutually exclusive. You have early adopters, like Gigi Hadid and Rihanna, to thank for that transition—neither are strangers to sporting head-to-toe loungewear with their favorite jewelry and designer handbags. Fashion brands (who might have previously eschewed the look) have also dipped their toes in the loungewear pool, putting out thoughtfully-designed sweatshirts and sweatpants sets that can seamlessly transition between different scenarios.

For example, one might now wear a matching tracksuit to the airport; atop black leggings on the way to a workout studio, or with a structured winter coat and minimalist sneakers for a weekend stroll—no matter the occasion, these coordinated pieces can achieve a put-together look in a matter of minutes.

Whether you’re a monochrome ensemble-loving minimalist or an athletic-minded maximalist, there’s a matching sweatsuit out there for you. Below, find 26 matching sweatsuits that are equal parts put-together and comfy for the new year.

You’ll Want to Wear This Golf Gear On and Off the Course by Nicole Kliest

While tennis has its signature crisp whites and pleated skirts and dresses, the best golf clothes for women have been in need of a refresh from argyle socks and preppy V-necks. Thankfully, that has arrived, and these active styles are now pieces you might want to wear off the course, too.

Designers like Tory Burch, Malbon, and Byrdie Golf Social Wear are leaning into motifs that harken back to golf’s most stylish days (when golfers like Gary Player and Arnold Palmer sported cardigans, sweater vests, and trousers), but with sweat-wicking materials and more fashion-forward cuts. If you wish to take a more classic activewear approach, tried-and-true heritage labels such as Adidas, Nike, and Ralph Lauren are ready to take your wardrobe up a notch with their golf-ready takes on the best workout clothes for women.

Here, shop some of the best golf clothes for women on the market, from polished sweater vests and easy-to-wear dresses, to bucket hats and more— all of which you’ll want to sport even when you aren’t teeing up.

Best Golf Polos for Women

Is there any golf top more classic than a polo? You already know the answer is no. For a graphic moment, consider Nylora’s striped quarter-zip, which is made from stretch scuba fabric to hug your curves. Outdoor Voices’ cropped version pairs well with high-waisted skirts or pants (which you might also love for a surprise ab-reveal). Kule’s terrycloth polo is a great for a hot day; the towel-like fabric will instantly soak up sweat, while Tory Burch’s pointelle-knit makes for a charming and lightweight option you’ll be keen to sport with denim after your 18 holes are made.

Vogue Essentials: The Wardrobe Staples We’re Carrying Into 2024 by Vogue Shopping Editors

Winter weather has arrived, which means there’s no time like the present to fully transition your wardrobe into one more suitable for the freezing temperatures, gusty winds, and wintry mixes that come with it. While everyday essentials like crisp white button-ups, great pairs of jeans, and notable knitwear, are the usual suspects in a polished winter uniform, our staples for this (and next!) year look slightly different. For 2024, we’re giving fabulous faux-fur coats, lug-sole boots, slim-fitting turtlenecks, and chic leather gloves a front row seat. ’Tis also the season for party dressing! Think sequin minidresses, crystal-embellished footwear, and elegant evening bags, all of which are given prime real estate in our closets.

With that being said, we could never forgo those aforementioned closet classics all together, especially since the start of a new season is often synonymous with change, whether it’s to improve personal routines, set and manifest goals, or even make a sartorial vibe shift. (Maybe you’re rethinking how to approach your style, cleaning out your closet of unworn items of the past, or looking to update and elevate your collection of wardrobe essentials altogether.)

To help, the Vogue shopping team has gathered a robust list of our favorite, most versatile pieces we consider to be foundational for any closet. Pared back but never boring, these are the wardrobe essentials our editors find themselves turning to season after season, the mainstay items, and the pieces we’re loving for 2023 (and 2024). And while we’ll still welcome irresistible seasonal and trend-forward pieces like statement red sweaters and sleek denim midiskirts—it’s fashion we’re obsessed with, after all!—we know those need to live alongside a capsule of staples, because every wardrobe needs a yin-yang balance. That shiny new statement item will dazzle even more when paired with, say, the perfect go-to jeans. And sometimes the item becomes a wardrobe essential itself.

Ahead is a well-curated edit that has helped craft the foundation of our wardrobes. It’s safe to say we’re wearing at least one, if not more, of the highlighted pieces daily. We’ve covered the classics—white T-shirts, crewneck sweaters, trench coats, tailored trousers, chic sneakers—and also those items that have more recently earned their spot as a wardrobe essential: ballet flats, knit maxi dresses, menswear-inspired loafers, and pairs of polished kitten heels that transition from workwear to evening wear seamlessly.

So here’s to raising the bar on stylish essentials this winter season (and beyond) and investing in the timeless, long-lasting pieces you’ll love for years to come. Below, shop a collection of closet must-haves from your friends at Vogue.

The Striped Sweater

The nautical-inspired striped sweater is a favorite among a handful of our very own editors; perhaps it’s because La Ligne’s striped knits have been perfected by two former Vogue editors. Kules’s cream-and-navy version is another cozy choice.

30 Best Preppy Gifts That’ll Make Anyone Feel Like Old Money by Jake Smith

While plenty of retailers would have you believe that they’re basically the definition of prep, actually tracking down the best preppy gifts can be a challenge. But whether you’re shopping for a monogram-happy friend or a pastel-obsessed tween, we’ve done the legwork for you, and all you need to do is click “add to cart.”

Sure, regular gifts for womenpresents for husbands, and gifts for teens will work just fine. A Best Friend Gift Is Hard to Define, But Here Are 20 I’d Give Mine by Samantha Weiss-Hills

I’ve made a tradition (and sport) out of dreaming up the pitch-perfect list of holiday gifts for my best friend. I like to think of it as a lighthearted reflection on the past 365 days, of our experiences together and everything she’s had going on. Last year, it was all about the big changes—a move, a new job, and all that comes with that. This round, it’s about settling in and finding her groove, whether that’s making her apartment feel like home or jet-setting for work travel in style. So if I had one giant box to fill with presents for my BFF, these are the 20 I’d put in it.

Gifts to Maker Her LOL

We both value a little giggle, so I would want to throw in a few things that are guaranteed to make her laugh. I know she’d get a kick out of a pasta-shaped candle, made by party and snack store Big Night with London’s Nata Concept Store. Ever the sock enthusiast, she’d appreciate and chuckle at a set of Kule smileys in goldenrod. A goofy 500-piece puzzle will scratch her jigsaw itch, and I’d poke a little fun at her commitment to hydration with an oversize insulated water bottle.
