With less than a week until the holidays, some of us have found ourselves scrambling. You try to prep gifting ahead, get overwhelmed, and then feel like you’re falling through holiday quicksand. But don’t fret! Stores are back open for last minute shoppers, plus there are plenty of gifts that are just an email away with gift cards or subscriptions. Just because you were busy, overwhelmed, or simply not ready for the blur that is December, doesn’t mean you can’t still get the kulest gifts for the ones you love 🎁.
Let’s start with the easiest and — in my experience as a recipient — favorite gifts to give: digital gifts! Gift cards are actually my favorite because I can use them when I actually really, really want something. New collections are launching and gift cards will come in very handy when they do! KULE gift cards are here for the purchasing, so just name your price. I also recommend going for an Air Mail subscription. It’s the gift that keeps on giving weekly, straight to your inbox. It’s $79.99 for an annual subscription which means there will be tons of shopping treats and of course, articles to read with morning coffee for the duration of 2022. Other subscriptions I highly recommend: a Grounded Plants plant of the month subscription which delivers every month for 3 months (someone get this for me). For coffee lovers, a Blue Bottle subscription which means a variety of different coffees to try weekly! Fool-proof for New York gift-recipients would be a membership to Chill House services which means a monthly 50-Minute Massage or facial. Others I’ve recommended before and still stand by: a customized flower subscription (moms will love) or a Criterion Channel membership for endless classic movies at $99.99 a year.
Now time for some physical gifts. If you’re in New York, I would be remiss to not mention the KULE Rockefeller Center store where we will help you find last minute gifts for men, women, kids, and even dogs. We also have embroidered cocktail napkins — sold exclusively in store — which are a great addition to your holiday tablescape. In classic KULE sayings, food emojis, festive O JOY and OY VEY embroidery, they’re playful and pretty. If you can’t make it to the store, we are offering complimentary same-day delivery to most Manhattan zip codes on orders over $100.
Also uptown, The MoMA design store is always a place I go in person for last minute, really original gifts. When you click on an item online, it also will tell you what store it’s available at. I love their home assortment and am personally eyeing the Cocca Moka Espresso Pot, available at The Museum Store on 53rd Street. (By the way, MoMA also has a Gift card if you are not near a store). If you’re headed downtown, Sabah Studio NYC will have its Bleecker Street doors open for you to shop the best men’s and women’s slippers. I strongly recommend the Shearling Babas for cozy feet all winter. Not too far away in SoHo is Winter on Wooster, a curated collection of fun online brands from around the world with a focus on female and minority-founded small businesses, all for you to physically shop last minute gifts until the 24th! Some highlights: Julietta for handmade hair accessories and jewelry, BONBONWHIMS for funky, youthful, colorful rings, and Predominantly Black for natural body care and candles for the most relaxing holiday season.
If you can’t physically make it shopping, one of my absolute favorite candles is available for next day shipping! Homesick candles are personalized candles: you can get your loved one their hometown scent, perfect for the holidays. And then we have Net-a-Porter and The Outnet which each offer $25 same-day delivery for customers based in New York City and adjacent locations (see details here). You can receive your gifts, wrapped in a bow, in no time!
And last tip! Don’t forget to sign your name on the card. Bonus points if the card sings 😉.
